Yuan Tian, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Associate in Cell Biology

Education

Postdoctoral Researcher at Yale University (since 2021)
Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at China Agricultural University (2021)

Research Background and Interests

My research utilizes super-resolution microscopy techniques to study protein distribution in organelles at the nanoscale, spatiotemporal mapping of biomolecular complexes or organelles in cellular biological processes, and cell-cell interactions or communication between different cell types in diseases.

Work in the Bewersdorf Lab

I am applying pan-ExM in mammalian cells and mouse tissues to visualize the ultrastructural detail of organelles, and investigate the subcellular localization and function of proteins within them. Additionally, I am developing a variant of the pan-ExM workflow to expand human clinical specimens and study the subcellular localization of biomarkers, as well as tumor-immune cell interactions or communication within the tumor immune microenvironment.

Outside the lab

I enjoy hiking and traveling with my family and friends.
